The European Union will widen its sanction against Russia. This is in regards with the MH17 plane crash and the ongoing conflict of Russia and Ukraine. The western leaders have accused Russia or arming rebels in the eastern Ukraine. They further believe that Russia is the one responsible in the shot down of the airliner there. The crash of Malaysian airlines has led to a total number of 298 casualties. The sanctions of the European Union aim to force Russia to defuse conflict with Ukraine and to finally disarm the rebels.
The new sanction list will be drawn by the European ambassadors the soonest possible time. In fact, the European Commission will search for further measures against Russia when it comes to field of defence, especially when it comes to financial services and dual-used goods in the energy field. The EU and US have already decided to freeze the assets and travel bans on some of the top officials of Russia including leading companies and commanders.
